Jakarta Waste-Free Campaign Intensified

Jakarta Dept. of City Cleanliness keeps intensifying “Jakarta Bebas Sampah” or Jakarta Waste-Free campaign in order to reduce waste volume in the capital. It is targeted that waste volume in 2017 could be reduced from 7,000 tons to 5,000 tons per day.

Isnawa Adji, Jakarta Head Dept. of City Cleanliness, optimistic waste volume could be reduced yearly through this campaign.

“If waste bank is provided in every RW, and paid plastic bag program run well, waste volume could be decreased,” he said, Tuesday (4/12).

Waste Bank Socialization Attended by 30 Headmaster

According to him, the campaign will involve Jakarta citizens via online and offline programs.

“Through this program, we appeal citizens disposing waste according to its type, providing waste bank, and intensifying paid plastic bag program,” he closed.
