Rustam Effendi, North Jakarta Mayor, uttered no compensation for demolished buildings. They only get relocation to Marunda and Rawa Bebek flats.

“We still trying to relocate them to flats,” he said, Friday (4/15).

Based on Beritajakarta.com’s observation, there are 20 households living on their boat.

Jama (47), one of boat men, admitted he together with his wife and two children have no money for renting house.

“We’ll still live on boat until city administration gives us compensation money. We could rent a house or back to hometown if we have money,” he admitted.
