An Electricity Cable Near Mayestik Market Burnt

An electricity cable at Jalan Tebah, RT 10/03 Gunung Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru, burned at around 9.30 AM, Monday (4/18). The incident caused local people panic because their homes near the Mayestik Market. 

But the security officer failed because the cable position is high enough, precisely at the top of pole. Luckily, fire truck comes and immediately manage it

Fikky Dwiansyah (32), a witness saw a spark come out of the cable and continued with the flames. The worker in Dempo Park then then shouted for help. Then a security officer of Mayestik Market took light extinguish tool to put out the flames.

"But the security officer failed because the cable position is high enough, precisely at the top of pole. Luckily, fire truck comes and immediately manage it," he told.

There was no casualty reported in the incident. Further, its cause will be investigated by the police.

"We urge people not closer to the scene and we have contacted PLN to repair it," said Sr. Comr. Purwanta, Head of Public Relations Section for South Jakarta Metro Resort Police.
