Inundation in Cipete Selatan Receded

Inundation that hit citizen residential on Jalan Kemang Selatan XII, RT 05/01 and RT 02/07, Cipete Selatan Urban Village, Cilandak Sub-district, receded. From 70 cm, the current water level only leaves 30 cm.

Due to inundation, mostly citizens evacuate to their neighbor's houses and some prefer to stay

Based on the information gathered, the number of flood victims in RT 05/01 is reaching 78 households or 245 people. While in RT 02/01, there are 45 households or 145 people.

Heny, (35), one of citizens admitted, the overflowing water of Krukut River has inundated his home at 5 AM, Thursday (4/21).

Jalan Makasar Paralyzed Due to Inundation

"Due to inundation, mostly citizens evacuate to their neighbor's houses and some prefer to stay. Usually the water could recede about 3 hours, perhaps this is due to high rainfall, from night until morning," he expressed.

He furthered, as many as 15 people have been evacuated to a safer place. They were evacuated using rubber boat by Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept.

"Initially, citizens wanted to do evacuation by themselves but they failed due to heavy water flow. After getting report, we then immediately go to save them," said Agus Guritno, a member of South Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-dept.
