West Jakarta Administration is going to demolish 183 buildings along Jalan Raya Menceng, Tegal Alur, Kalideres on May 2, 2016. After that, the city administration would conduct road widening.

"We've issued warning letter, and Mr. Governor also has approved the road widening plan at Jalan Raya Menceng," said Mayor of West Jakarta, Anas Effendi, Wednesday (4/27).

Effendi disclosed, in 1973, buildings stood atop the road was been acquired by PT Sarana Jaya. Later on, the road will be widened from 6 becomes 24 meters.

"Road widening is conducted, considering the passing vehicle is dense and often causing traffic jam," he told.

Meanwhile, Kalideres Sub-district Head, Uus Kuswanto explains those buildings are located on the road as long as 1.5 kilometers from Jalan Kebersihan until Semongol River.

"These houses affected by demolishemnt are in RT 05, 09/RW 10 and RT 02, 04, 05/RW 11 Tegal Alur Urban Village. 75 percent of buildings have been demolished by the owner," he finished.
