Dump Trucks Deployed to Tanjung Priok

Following the closure of Trash Disposal Site (TPS) at RW 08, Warakas Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-District, North Jakarta, a number of dump trucks are deployed to transport trash in that location.

Head of Tanjung Priok Sub-District Cleanliness Section, Djunjungan Sihombing, said the TPS had to be closed down to reduce trash volume. He also predicted the trash to be transported in 10 trips.

“This transportation is conducted to pick up the remaining trashes here, and the trip would probably be added. We’re also planning to cast the TPS, so our shovel could work better,” he stated, Friday (4/25).

Meanwhile, Deputy Head of Tanjung Priok Sub-Distict, Maskur, supported the cleaning of TPS at RW 08 Warakas. According to him, trash problem is not only government’s responsibility, but also the citizens’.

“ There should be awareness of the public as well, to be able to understand the importance of cleanliness and health in their neighborhood ,” he uttered.
