No Relocation for Residents Around Luar Batang Mosque

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T. Purnama uttered his side will not control residents living around Luar Batang Mosque. The control will be applied for state’s land such as in Pasar Ikan and Akuarium.

“We have no plan relocating them. It’s already finished,” he said, Monday (5/23).

Previously, Jakarta Provincial Government plans to buy residents’ land around Luar Batang Mosque to widen the mosque’s yard. A plaza will be constructed to give comfort for mosque’s visitors.

Archaeologists Involved to Arrange Pasar Ikan

Meanwhile, residents living in Akuarium area will be relocated to flats. Actually, there was no settlement on that land.

“If they argue have been living there since Netherlands period, I don’t think so. How could you build your house above the castle,” he added.
