Jakarta BPLHD Checks Water Quality in Ciliwung

Jakarta Regional Environment Management Agency (BPLHD) is checking water quality in Ciliwung River starting from TB Simatupang Bridge, Tanjung Barat, South Jakarta until Bidara Cina, East Jakarta.

This is to follow up the mandate of Mr Governor regarding river water in the river

It is conducted by taking river water and wastewater samples from an outlet of industry and connecting channel disposal that flows into Ciliwung River.

Jakarta BPLHD Head, Junaedi disclosed samples are taken to get an overview of river water and wastewater that disposed from the industry outlet or other activities to Ciliwung River.

Sea Water Quality Monitored in 11 Islands

"This is to follow up the mandate of Mr Governor regarding river water in the river," he stated, Thursday (6/2).

He explains water quality checking is done by civil servant investigators (PPNS), environment surveillance officials (PPLH), laboratory officers and related regional working units (SKPD).

"Laboratory result will be analyzed. If the industry does not comply with the requirements so there will be notification letter. If they do not obey, there will be observations in the field. And if there is a violation, administrative sanction will be given, ranging from reprimand to license revocation," he finished.
