The revitalization of the drainage system on Jalan Haji Jaid, Petukangan Selatan, Pesanggrahan, South Jakarta, is set to be completed by the end of this month.
I hope this revitalization provides a lasting solution
Pesanggrahan Water Resources (SDA) Sub-agency Field Coordinator, Halim said the improvement serves as a follow-up to a community request.
“Previously, the channel was too small, causing water to overflow and flood the road access,” he stated, Friday (2/13).
Sultan Iskandar Muda Pedestrian Revitalization is a Priority ProposalHe explained that the project involves installing 40-HD U-ditch concrete drains along an 80-meter stretch.
“The work is being performed manually by five ‘Blue Squad’ personnel,” he clarified.
The project, underway since December 9, 2025, has faced hurdles due to heavy rainfall. Rising water levels in the channel have slowed the drying process of the newly built structures.
"We are targeting completion by the end of this month. Progress currently stands at 70%. The main challenge is that rain causes water to rise, which delays the hardening of the channel structures," Halim noted.
Local resident Afandi expressed appreciation for personnel’s quick response in the field.
"I hope this revitalization provides a lasting solution to the frequent street flooding on this road," he hoped.
