"Through a lantern festival and barongsai and liong dance performances, Transjakarta highlights its commitment to creating inclusive and lively public transport spaces that reflect Jakarta’s cultural diversity," he shared on Monday (2/16).

This year's Lunar New Year celebration is packaged into two main programs: the "Lantern Festival at Transjakarta Bus Stops" and the cultural performance "Pesona Imlek: Harmony of Barongsai and Liong Dance", both of which can be enjoyed by customers and the general public.

The festive atmosphere is brought to life through lantern installations and thematic decorations at six Transjakarta bus stops: Bundaran HI Astra, Bundaran Senayan, Senayan Bank Jakarta, Bendungan Hilir, Karet, and Dukuh Atas.

The decorations not only beautify the bus stops but also create a more memorable travel experience and serve as a visual attraction for customers during the Lunar New Year period.

The highlight of the celebration will be the cultural performance "Pesona Imlek: Harmony of Barongsai and Liong Dance", held at Bundaran HI Astra Transjakarta Bus Stop from February 15–17, 2026, from 3:30 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

"The performances will be held in two sessions each day at 3:30 p.m. and 4:30 p.m., giving customers greater opportunities to enjoy the cultural attractions," he noted.

He further said that through this series of events, Transjakarta reaffirms its commitment not only to providing safe and reliable transportation services, but also to creating friendly and inclusive public spaces that reflect the city's spirit of diversity.

"The Lunar New Year celebrations at Transjakarta bus stops and transport hubs are expected to strengthen public attachment to public transportation, while turning daily commutes into a more vibrant urban experience," he explained.
