"Satpol PP, police and army personnel will secure the temple, which is visited by many ethnic Chinese people to worship during the Chinese New Year 2026 celebrations," he said, Monday (2/16).

He explained that security is focused on preventing people with social welfare problems (PMKS) from crowding several temples in Central Jakarta. These PMKS hope to receive red envelopes from the congregation.

Satpol PP personnel will be on standby at the gate and the outer perimeter of the temple to prevent PMKS from entering the worship area, so as not to disrupt the solemnity of worship.

"We also cooperate with Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency to handle illegal parking," he explained.

Satpol PP also carries out security at tourist attractions because Chinese New Year is a national holiday.

The temples in Central Jakarta that will be safeguarded include the Tri Ratna Temple; the Sin Tek Bio Temple; the Lautze Temple; the Avalokitesvara (Kwan Im Tong) Temple; and the Dharma Yuga Temple.

Then there are the Maitreya Jaya Temple and the Dharma Jaya Temple; the Dharma Amurva Bhumi Temple (Hok Tek Tjeng Sin), the Metta Arama Buddha Temple, and the Sapto Ronggo Temple.
