Head of the agency, Dwi Oktavia said this year's Chinese New Year celebrations are not just a ceremony, but real proof that Jakarta is a 'home' for all groups.
"We saw something truly beautiful, diversity celebrated together. Dozens of senior residents were present, smiling, and enjoying the atmosphere. This is proof that Jakarta is a comfortable home for all," she said.
The Jakarta Chinese New Year Festival 2026 aims to provide a space for togetherness across ages and cultures. Chinese New Year is not just the preserve of one ethnic group, but rather a cultural heritage that can be enjoyed by all Jakartans.
"Through the PPAPP Agency, the Jakarta Provincial Government invited approximately 60 elderly women to experience the warmth of Chinese New Year celebrations. We aim to bring joy to public spaces so that it can be felt by all levels of society," she added.
