Free Tattoo Removal at Sunda Kelapa Mosque Targets 100 Residents

Baznas Bazis in synergy with the Central Jakarta City Government held a free tattoo removal service in the courtyard of the Sunda Kelapa Grand Mosque, Menteng, Monday (2/23) to Tuesday (2/24).

According to the Coordinator of Central Jakarta Baznas Bazis, Muhammad Raja Zamzami, this free tattoo removal program is one of the implementations of the use of zakat, infak, and sedekah (ZIS) paid by muzakki.

"The ZIS funds collected are returned to the community through beneficial programs, one of which is a free tattoo removal service," he said, Tuesday (2/24).

In implementing this program, Zamzami explained, his team is collaborating with the Central Jakarta City Government and the Islamic Management Service. He assured that residents participating in the program will receive good service.

"We have a quota of 1,000 people. Those who wish to have their tattoos removed must undergo a health check first," he added.

Suherni (35), one of the residents who participated in this program, said she was happy to be able to fulfill her dream of having her tattoo removed for free.

"Thank God, I got the opportunity to have the tattoo on my left arm removed," she said.
