Hundreds of Joint Personnel Launch Massive Cleanup in East Jakarta

Mayor Munjirin hit the ground running today, leading a 700-person joint task force in a major push to restore order in East Jakarta. The "Bina Tertib Praja" operation mobilizes the TNI, Police, and local government agencies to reclaim the city's pedestrian paths.

Our strategy is built on being persuasive and humane

The massive team has been fanned out to 10 sub-districts, targeting illegal street vendors and rogue parking that have long hindered public access.

"Our aim is to ensure public facilities function as they should for all residents," Munjirin emphasized.

Bina Tertib Praja' Operation Targets Several City Routes

East Jakarta Satpol PP Chief, Muhamadong said, the "Bina Tertib Praja" operation was conducted simultaneously throughout East Jakarta, with a primary focus on pedestrian paths and sidewalks that have been misappropriated.

"Violators caught on-site will face immediate enforcement and are required to attend minor offense (Tipiring) hearings at the East Jakarta District Court," he expressed, Thursday (2/26).

Key locations targeted in this sweep include Jalan Jatinegara Barat, Jalan Jatinegara Timur, Jalan Otto Iskandardinata (Otista), and Jalan MT Haryono, along with several other street vendor hotspots across East Jakarta.

"The final count remains in progress as the sweep is still ongoing. Our strategy is built on being persuasive and humane, but we are not compromising on firmness," he noted.
