Tanah Abang Water Resources Unit Head, Eli Menawan Sari explained that the project is a direct follow-up to the 2026 Bendungan Hilir Development Planning Forum (Musrenbang).
Channel Normalization on Jalan Limboto to Complete Mid February"We've deployed a team of 10 'Blue Squad' personnel to conduct this normalization work," she stated, Friday (2/27).
Eli revealed that the 170-meter-long drainage system is being overhauled using 40x40 centimeter U-ditch concrete reinforcements. This upgrade is designed to significantly increase the channel's structural integrity and water flow capacity.
"Construction commenced last week, and we are aiming for a full completion by early May," she noted.
Jauhari (43), a local resident of Bendungan Hilir VII, lauded the Central Jakarta Water Resources Sub-agency’s prompt intervention in addressing community concerns.
Hopefully, the channel could accommodate a much larger volume of water, so our neighborhood is finally spared from flooding during heavy downpours," he stated.
