Spotlights Add Lighting to Cawang City Forest

Three spotlights were installed at Cawang City Forest on Jalan DI Panjaitan, Kebon Pala Urban Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta.

Head of Section for Infrastructure, Facilities, City Utilities and Public Street Lighting for East Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency, Yanuar Ikhsan explained the installed spotlights consist of two units with a power of 240 watts and one with a power of 120 watts.

"To provide more light and prevent negative behavior at night, the trees were pruned, and the lighting became more optimal," he said, Wednesday (3/4).

Head Section of Green Belt and Cemetery for East Jakarta City Park and Forestry Sub-agency, Made Widhi Adnyana Surya Pratita, said 30 shady trees at the park were already pruned.

"The pruning is aimed to anticipate fallen trees and to optimize the lighting," he said.

He added that the pruning was run on February 27 up to March 1, 2026 by deploying 14 personnel.

One of Kebon Pala residents, Andika (35), appreciated the government for caring for the public facilities.

"Hopefully, the Cawang City Forest can return to its optimal function as a green open space that is safe, comfortable, and provides benefits to the community, without being misused," he hoped.
