Affordable and High-Quality Staple Goods Offered at Ramadan Bazaar

Jakarta Provincial Government holds a Ramadan Food and SME Bazaar ahead of the National Religious Holiday (HBKN) Eid al-Fitr as well as in the atmosphere of the holy month of Ramadan 2026.

ensuring equitable food distribution

Head of Industry, Trade, Cooperative, Small and Medium Enterprise (PPKUKM) Agency, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo said this program is a strategic step by the regional government as part of the 2026 Jakarta Ramadan Festival series and aims to maintain food price stability, ensure stock availability, and provide access to affordable food for the community amidst increasing demand ahead of Eid.

Residents of Pramuka Island Flock to Ramadan Bazaar and Cheap Market

"This Ramadan Food Bazaar is a form of government involvement to ensure Jakarta residents have access to basic commodities at affordable prices and with good quality. Collaboration with various stakeholders, state-owned enterprises (BUMN) and regionally-owned enterprises (BUMD) is crucial to ensuring equitable food distribution throughout the Seribu Islands," she said, Monday (3/9).

Ratu added that this activity took place simultaneously at 43 locations spread across five administrative cities and the Seribu Islands Administrative Regency from March 2 to 13, 2026.

According to her, this activity focuses not only on affordable food but also on empowering the local economy. This year's Food Bazaar is integrated with the SME Bazaar fostered by Jakarta Entrepreneur.

"So, while residents stock up on basic necessities like rice, cooking oil, and meat, they can also shop for premium products from local SMEs. This is our collective effort to drive Jakarta's economy," she added.

During the implementation period from March 2 to 13, residents can obtain various essential commodities such as rice, cooking oil, sugar, beef, chicken, and eggs at designated points, such as government offices, RPTRA, and other public open spaces.

"Jakarta Provincial Government hopes that through this series of bazaars, regional inflation can remain calm without being burdened by high food price spikes," she stated.

The implementation of this activity is fully supported by various stakeholders, including state-owned food companies (Bulog, ID Food), regional-owned food companies (PT Food Station Tjipinang Jaya, Perumda Pasar Jaya, PT Dharma Jaya), and the private sector.
