Health Posts Stationed to Ensure Comfort for Homecoming Travelers

Jakarta Health Agency is setting up health posts at terminals, stations, and ports to serve travelers during the Idulfitri homecoming 2026 period.

These health posts focus on screening drivers and crews

Twelve posts have been stationed throughout the city, including seven bus terminals, three train stations, and two ports.

Health posts are available at seven bus terminals: Kampung Rambutan, Pulo Gebang, Kalideres, Tanjung Priok, Grogol, Lebak Bulus, and Muara Angke.

Additionally, medical stations are placed at Pasar Senen, Gambir, and Jakarta Kota train stations, as well as Kali Adem and Muara Angke ports.

Operating from March 13 to March 30, 2026, the health posts will provide medical screenings for drivers and bus crews and assist the public during the Idulfitri transport period.

Jakarta Health Agency Head, Ani Ruspitawati noted that the initiative aims to ensure that public transport operators and travelers remain healthy and safe throughout their trips.

"These health posts focus on screening drivers and crews while also serving the general public," she said, Monday (3/16).

She emphasized that checking drivers' health is crucial to ensuring they are fit for duty.

She explained that the health screenings for drivers involve a self-screening form covering various risk factors, such as smoking habits, physical activity, tuberculosis, mental health, liver disease, cancer risk factors, nutritional status, hypertension, diabetes, skin diseases, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), and lung cancer.

Further, the check-ups include measurements of weight, height, and waist circumference, as well as blood pressure and random blood sugar tests. Medical personnel also conduct an anamnesis or interview regarding the potential for COPD, lung cancer, and skin diseases.

Drivers will receive health counseling and education from medical personnel. The fitness-to-drive exam also includes drug and breathalyzer tests to ensure they are fit for duty. She stressed that drivers with health issues that pose a risk to travel safety will be barred from driving.

"If there are health impairments—for instance, being under the influence of alcohol or having risky conditions like hypertension or diabetes—the driver is forbidden from operating the vehicle until cleared," she noted.

She noted that the health posts serve not only transport personnel but also passengers and the public.

"These posts are open to anyone requiring medical care. However, we are prioritizing health checks for the drivers responsible for the buses," she stated.
