Personnel of East Jakarta Fire Handling and Rescue Sub-agency successfully extinguished fire on Jalan Swadaya PLN, RT 01, 09, and RT 13 in RW 02, Jatinegara Urban Village, Cakung District.

Head Section of Operation for the Sub-agency, Abdul Wahid said the fire incident was reported at 7:20 AM. The fire was allegedly caused by an electrical short.
"When it was first seen, the fire had already spread from one of the buildings used as a furniture workshop," he said, Monday (3/16).

"We deployed 15 firetrucks with 75 personnel," he explained.
According to him, there were no fatalities in the incident. However, a resident named Dimas (35) suffered minor injuries while helping to extinguish the fire after being hit by a building roof.
A local resident, Lukman (46), said the fire quickly grew from the furniture workshop and spread to the semi-permanent buildings around it.
"The fire quickly spread and engulfed the building. Initial efforts to control the fire were ineffective, but fortunately, firefighters arrived quickly," he said.
Meanwhile, Head of Jatinegara Urban Village, Faqieh Insani stated based on temporary data, there are 10 heads of families or 31 people who survived the fire.
Faqieh ensured his side had cooperated with East Jakarta Social Sub-agency for handling the survivors including building tents and preparing foods.
"We have proposed that refugee tents be installed on empty land near the incident location," he explained.
