Return Travel Flow at Pulo Gebang Terminal Expected to Peak Next Week

The return travel flow for Eid al-Fitr 1447 Hijri at Pulo Gebang Terminal in East Jakarta is expected to peak next week, as the Eid holiday ends and the Work From Anywhere (WFA) policy concludes.

"We expect the return flow to increase starting tomorrow,"

Pulo Gebang Integrated Terminal Team Commander Batman Harahap said return travel remained relatively low on Sunday (3/22). From midnight to 7 AM, only 385 passengers arrived on 124 intercity, interprovincial (AKAP) buses.

"We expect the return flow to increase starting tomorrow," he added.

Batman explained that the return flow is forecast to peak in parallel with the end of the school holiday period.

"We will ensure the best possible service for both outbound and return Eid travel this year at Pulo Gebang Terminal," he asserted.

According to him, 85 joint personnel from internal teams, the Indonesian Military (TNI), and the National Police (Polri) are deployed in each shift to maintain security and comfort at the terminal.

He also noted that departures on Eid day were relatively high, reaching 2,436 passengers on 271 buses.

"As of this morning, departures remain relatively low, with 59 passengers on five AKAP buses," he informed.

Meanwhile, a passenger, Sawitri (41), said she opted to return to Jakarta early to avoid traffic congestion.

"Thankfully, the trip was smooth with no congestion. I chose to return early as work starts tomorrow," she shared.
