A total of 25 tons of waste from floodwaters in the Kramat Jati District was successfully cleaned up. The waste was the result of the overflowing rivers from the Baru and Induk rivers that occurred from Saturday night (March 21) to Sunday morning (March 22).

We will continue cleaning until tomorrow

Head of Kramat Jati District's Environmental Unit, Dwi Firmansyah said garbage cleaning has been carried out since Monday (23/3) and is targeted to be completely completed by Friday (27/3) tomorrow.

"Up to now, we have successfully cleaned up approximately 25 tons of waste. We will continue cleaning until tomorrow," he said, Thursday (3/26).

He detailed that of the two affected locations, namely Tengah and Batu Ampar Urban Village, the largest volume of waste came from Tengah Urban Village, reaching 21 tons, while in Batu Ampar it was four tons.

"For transportation, we deployed eight vehicles: three large trucks, three small trucks, one Hilux, and one pickup truck belonging to the UPS Water Agency. Fifteen Environmental Task Force personnel were also deployed, assisted by PPSU officers and the UPS Water Agency Task Force," he explained.

According to him, the waste cleaning process is hampered by location access or roads that cannot be reached by transport vehicles.

"Some points must be handled manually because vehicles cannot enter. The waste is first taken to a location accessible to the collection fleet," he stated.
