Pramono Calls for Enhanced Synergy at DPRD Post-Eid Gathering

Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung attended a halal bihalal (post-Eid gathering) with the Jakarta City Council (DPRD) at the City Council Building on Monday (3/30).

This is a very important event

The event served as a momentum to maintain the well-established relationship between the executive and legislative branches.

"This is a very important event for the Vice Governor and me, which is why we are here. Why did we attend? In my view, the relationship between the Jakarta government and the Jakarta DPRD is exceptionally harmonious," he expressed.

He noted that DPRD’s backing helped Jakarta achieve 5.21 percent economic growth last year, outperforming the national average of 5.11 percent.

Pramono also commended the council's support during a Rp 15 trillion reduction in revenue-sharing funds, which allowed the city to maintain focus on education, social aid, and staff welfare.

"We went through a tough time, but fortunately, everything went smoothly. Last year’s City budget (APBD) was largely realized according to our targets," he explained.

He urged the Legislature and all stakeholders to work together in protecting Jakarta and ensuring strong rapport with the central government.

Similarly, Jakarta DPRD Chairman, Khoirudin invited the Executive to maintain their existing synergy, noting that the city's stable and harmonious climate is widely appreciated by residents.

"Jakarta currently enjoys a peaceful atmosphere. We hope this harmony persists until our terms conclude," he remarked.

He also emphasized the Council’s priority in monitoring the implementation of Law No. 2/2024, specifically Article 19 on Jakarta’s specialities. He noted that 15 areas of authority must be protected.

"We must guard these 15 specialities so the central government does not overtake local rights. Essentially, the central government handles the NSPK framework (Norms, Standards, Procedures, and Criteria), while the Jakarta administration is responsible for the actual execution," he explained.

He also drew attention to the global economic impact of the Middle East conflict, reminding Jakarta to safeguard food security and basic needs.

"I hope Commission B will jointly monitor our food security to ensure it is fully secured for Jakarta’s 11.8 million daytime and 10.6 million nighttime residents," he explained.
