ERP Jakarta Tak Akan Gunakan Teknologi Satelit

Jakarta ERP Uses Gantry System

Jakarta Governor, Basuki T Purnama wants to accelerate the implementation of electronic road pricing (ERP) system. But the technology will not be using satellites such as those being developed by Singapore.

We want to accelerate ERP system, that is using gantry system or control points

"We want to accelerate ERP system, that is using gantry system or control points. There is new technology using satelite. But, maybe, Singapore wants to implement it in 2018, if we await them, the syste will postpone until 2019. So we decided to install the existing system first," he disclosed, at City Hall, Wednesday (6/8).

Gantry system is also used by Singapore for ERP. The way is every vehicle that passes it will automatically be charged under fee. System trial has been since 2014. There have been at least two gates developed, namely on Jalan Sudirman by Kaphs and Jalan Rasuna Said by Q-free.

ERP Auction Accelerated

He added administration for auction process is still being set up. "Hopefully it could be installed prior to 2018 Asian Games. Thus traffic jam can be parsed," he hoped.

According to Basuki besides parsing jam, the system can also be used to conduct cross-subsidy for public transport user. Thus all fares in the city can be cheaper.

"It's called administer justice. From ERP, subsidized to bus, this is fair. So Jakartans would ride the bus with cheaper fare," he said.
