Jakarta to Host Lebaran Betawi Next Week at Lapangan Banteng

The Jakarta government ensures the return of Lebaran Betawi in 2026. The festivities are planned for April 10–12, 2026, at Lapangan Banteng, Central Jakarta.

City Secretary People Welfare Assistant, Ali Maulana Hakim explained, Lebaran Betawi 2026 will be the 18th time the event has been held. In addition to being a cultural event, it acts as a major venue for 'halalbihalal' (post-Eid gatherings) after the 1447 Hijri Eid al-Fitr.
"Despite there are some reductions due to the global situation and budget efficiency, we will still hold Lebaran Betawi solemnly. We won't lose the essence and the spirit of silaturahmi to bolster our unity," he stated, Friday (3/4).

Following the guidance of Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung, this event is slated to be held at Lapangan Banteng to honor its historical roots. The square remains one of Jakarta’s most historic landmarks and a key icon of the city's growth.
He added that the program will also feature social initiatives, including charitable outreach. He/She encouraged people from all walks of life to make time for this yearly cultural festival.
"Moreover, it is taking place at Lapangan Banteng, a site rich in history. We look forward to seeing the community come out and join the celebration," he stated.
