10 Illegal Parking Attendants in Blok M Area Controlled

South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Parking Management Unit increases supervision to prevent illegal parking attendants from operating again in the Blok M area, Melawai Urban Village, Kebayoran Baru District.

Head of South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency's Parking Management Unit, Damanik said as many as 10 illegal parking attendants in the Blok M Square area were controlled last week and asked to make a written statement not to repeat their actions.

"This area has implemented a one-stop parking system. This means visitors only need to pay the official rate at the exit and do not need to give money to illegal parking attendants," he said, Tuesday (4/7).

His party is carrying out intensive supervision by guarding two shifts at a number of points prone to illegal parking practices to prevent similar incidents from recurring.

Various efforts have been made together with government officials and the management of the Blok M Square area, starting from imposing sanctions in the form of written statements to installing socialization banners.

"If there are still illegal parking attendants who insist on operating, we will certainly take firm action," he admitted.

Damanik urged the public not to hesitate to report any illegal levies. Reports can be submitted to officers from the Transportation Agency, the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the police, or the area management.

"We expect public participation to stop this practice of extortion by not giving money or tips to illegal parking attendants," he emphasized.
