Buildings on Krukut Riverbank in South Petojo Demolished

A total of 50 joint personnel from the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), Water Resources Sub-agency, PPSU, army and police carried out the control of illegal buildings on the banks of the Krukut River, Jalan Sekolah RW 08, Petojo Utara, Gambir, Central Jakarta.

Petojo Utara Urban Village Secretary, Muchammad Vicky Rizaldi said 13 buildings occupied Krukut riverbanks.

"Prior to the enforcement action, we summoned and issued three warning letters to building owners whose buildings exceeded the Krukut River's watershed. The enforcement action was carried out in accordance with standard operating procedures (SOP)," he said, Wednesday (4/8).

Vicky explained that the arrangement of the Krukut Riverbank area aims to create comfort and beauty in the city, as well as restore the function of the river basin.

"Five of the 13 building owners had already demolished the buildings themselves before today's clean-up operation," he added.

He hopes that residents of RW 08, Petojo Utara Urban Village, will no longer build buildings that violate regulations and are potentially dangerous.
