Residents, especially in RT 06/12, Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, Ciracas District, East Jakarta, expressed their appreciation for the realization of water channel revitalization on Jalan Manggis as a flood preventive effort.
It's now underway
Zaelani, head of neighborhood association (RT) 06/12 in Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village, said that the previous drainage channel was inadequate due to its small size. This caused water to frequently overflow, inundating residential areas to a depth of 30 to 50 centimeters during heavy rain.

Residents felt grateful and expressed their thanks to the Water Resources Implementation Unit of Ciracas District and the Kelapa Dua Wetan Urban Village for realizing the proposal.
"Hopefully, this channel will be effective in preventing flooding as its capacity increases," he hoped.
Meanwhile, Coordinator of Ciracas District Water Resources Unit, Deby explained the previous channel width was only about 25 centimeters so it was unable to hold the water during heavy rain.
"We revitalize this channel for about 65 meters using a 40 centimeter U-ditch," she explained.
The work implementation involves eight personnel completed with adequate tools.
"Revitalization began on April 6, 2026 and is targeted to be completed in 40 days," she stated.
