Personnel Cut Down Unstable Trees in Gandaria Tengah Area

The South Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency has cut down hazardous trees on Jalan Gandaria Tengah in Kebayoran Baru, to prevent them from collapsing.

We first conducted a survey of the tree's condition

South Jakarta Parks and City Forest Sub-agency's Pruning Team Chairman, Wanda stated that the complete removal of the tree, including its roots, was a follow-up to a resident's report submitted via a formal request letter.

"Before the felling, we first conducted a survey of the tree's condition. The results showed that the tree had to be completely cut down because the trunk was up to 70 percent decayed," he expressed, Monday (4/13).

According to him, the felled tree was a mahogany with a diameter of around 90 centimeters and a height of roughly 10 meters. The operation involved 11 workers and one bucket truck.

"The logs and foliage will later be taken to the Kampung Kandang Cemetery area for shredding," he explained.

He added that this effort is expected to enhance the safety and comfort of residents, especially during heavy rain accompanied by strong winds.

"We would like to thank the residents who reported this hazardous tree, allowing us to take immediate action," he added.

Meanwhile, a resident named Sugeng explained that the request for the tree felling was submitted due to concerns that it could endanger road users.

"Alhamdulillah (thank God), it was handled quickly by the personnel. The process also did not significantly disrupt traffic," he admitted.
