Cattles in Rorotan Undergo Health Checks and Sacrifice Requirements

Ahead of Eid al-Adha, the North Jakarta Food Security, Maritime, and Agriculture (KPKP) Sub-agency is tightening livestock health monitoring. This includes conducting on-site inspections of cattle owned by residents on Jalan Rorotan-Marunda, Rorotan Urban Village, Cilincing District.

We have examined 31 cows

Head of the Sub-agency, Novy Christine Palit said this inspection is a preventive measure to ensure that the sacrificial animals are in a healthy and suitable condition.

"We have examined 31 cows and given them vitamins," she said, Monday (4/13).

The examination revealed four cows in poor health. Officers immediately treated three of the cows with antibiotics and fever-reducing medication for the other.

"The examination is carried out thoroughly, including checking the heart rate, body temperature, and physical conditions such as the mouth, nails and nose," she explained.

Based on the results of the examination carried out on all the cattle, no indications of Foot and Mouth Disease (FMD) were found.

Ia menambahkan, berdasarkan hasil pemerikasaan yang sudah dilakukan terhadap seluruh sapi tersebut, tidak ditemukan indikasi Penyakit Mulut dan Kuku (PMK).

According to her, supervision will continue to be stepped up ahead of Eid al-Adha. Farmers and traders are also urged to maintain clean pens and ensure adequate feed supply.

Meanwhile, Deli (40), a livestock seller, said he was greatly helped by the cattle inspections. The government's attention provides a sense of security for livestock breeders.

"We hope that our livestock will remain healthy so that their quality and selling value will also increase," he admitted.
