North Jakarta Social Services Sub-agency Distributes 72 Hearing Aids

The North Jakarta Social Services Sub-agency has distributed 72 hearing aids to residents in six districts. This assistance demonstrates the Jakarta Provincial Government's commitment to improving the quality of life for people with disabilities.

Head of the Social Protection, Security, and Rehabilitation Section of the North Jakarta Social Services Sub-agency, Agus Kurniawan, said that the distribution of hearing aids aims to help beneficiaries return to optimal activities and improve their communication skills in daily life.

"This assistance comes from the city budget to improve the quality of life of Jakarta residents, especially those with sensory disabilities," he said, Friday (4/24).

He explained that before receiving assistance, all recipients undergo a hearing aid inspection and measurement. This process ensures the device meets each individual's needs and functions optimally.

As of yesterday, the total number of beneficiaries was 72, with 45 receiving the first phase and 27 receiving the second phase. There are currently 128 hearing aids available for distribution in the third phase.

"The next stage of distribution will be carried out after the application data from the district implementing units, council members, and other community elements has been collected and verified," he explained.

Meanwhile, one of the Pegangsaan Dua Urban Village residents, Irfan Indra (46) expressed his gratitude and happiness after receiving the hearing aid.

"I can now hear again after an accident some time ago. The sounds and tones I once lost are starting to return. My life has changed since my hearing improved. Thank you to the government," he admitted.
