City Targets to Complete 15 IPAL Construction in 2022

The construction of waste installation (IPAL) now becomes the priority of Jakarta Provincial Government. It is because the 15 IPAL construction which were targeted to complete in 2050, now is accelerated to be 2022.

Next IPAL to be built are in Duri Kosambi (West Jakarta, Cipayung (East Jakarta), Kebon Melati (Central Jakarta), Pluit (North Jakarta), and Cilandak (South Jakarta)

“The governor hopes IPAL construction to complete 100 percent in 2022. Construction in Setiabudi, Kuningan is now completed,” said Mudarisin, BPLHD’s Environment Pollution Monitoring and Handling, Thursday (6/9).

IPAL construction is run since river pollution level in Jakarta reaches 75 percent. Moreover, industry, office, and trading areas are still unable to handle the waste.

“Next IPAL to be built are in Duri Kosambi (West Jakarta, Cipayung (East Jakarta), Kebon Melati (Central Jakarta), Pluit (North Jakarta), and Cilandak (South Jakarta),” he added.

Later on, IPAL will be managed by PD Pal Jaya if the fund is taken from city budget. If the fund is taken from private, then the management is handled by private also.
