Head of the Community Participation and Legal Compliance Section of the Seribu Islands Environmental Sub-agency, Riza Lestari Ningsih, said that the socialization was an effort to encourage the community to start sorting and processing waste directly from the source.

"We provide education to the public about the types of waste and how to process it so that people can start sorting waste from home," she said.

Participants were given an understanding of the grouping of organic, inorganic, hazardous and toxic materials (B3) waste, and residues, including the correct management procedures for each type of waste.

"We also held a similar activity in the Panggang Island Urban Village. We hope this activity will raise public awareness of the importance of waste reduction," she hoped.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Fauzi stated his support for the program, believing it is crucial for maintaining environmental cleanliness. Furthermore, Tidung Island is a favorite tourist destination in the Seribu Islands.

"I hope that people will become more aware of the importance of maintaining environmental cleanliness and start getting into the habit of sorting waste at home," he stated.
