Jakarta Destroys 10,200 Bottles of Seized Illegal Liquor at Monas

Jakarta City Secretary, Uus Kuswanto, led the destruction of 10,200 bottles of illegal liquor at the Southeast Monas Field, Gambir, Central Jakarta on Wednesday (5/13).

This destruction has been done based on the approval and decree

Uus stated that the illegal liquor bottles being destroyed were the result of enforcement operations conducted by Satpol PP, Police, and Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI).

Those bottles were seized from various stalls across the five administrative cities and Seribu Islands Regency throughout 2025–2026.

"Today, we are destroying 10,200 bottles of liquor using heavy machinery," he expressed.

He emphasized that the seizure and destruction of these illegal bottles are based on Bylaw No. 8/2007 on Public Order and No. 187/2014 on Control and Supervision of Alcoholic Beverage Sales.

"This destruction has been done based on the approval and decree from the Jakarta High Court," he explained.

Meanwhile, distributors and producers caught selling illegal liquor are subject to minor offense sanctions (tipiring).

"This is a manifestation of the Jakarta Regional Leadership Coordination Forum's (Forkopimda) commitment to protecting its residents from social ills," he concluded.
