Pluit Reservoir Rampant with Street Vendors

Residents of Pulit Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-district complaining about street vendors selling along Jalan Pluit Rimur Raya. They afraid street vendor existence could damage the park at the reservoir.

Previously, their number is not too many. Because of no controlling, it’s getting rampant

Nurdin (38), one of RW 03 Pluit residents, admitted street vendors have selling at the area for one year. He questioning why personnel never control them.

“Previously, their number is not too many. Because of no controlling, it’s getting rampant,” he said, Sunday (6/12).

Street vendors, he added, usually selling at 10 PM. During fasting month, they start selling at 3 PM to 10 PM.

“Street vendors also place their bench at the park,” he added.

North Jakarta Satpol PP Head, Choiruddin, admitted never heard about such report. If the statement is true, his side will deploy personnel to control the street vendors.

“We’ll cooperate with sub-district and urban village Satpol PP personnel to control them,” he promised.
