Head of Kalideres District, Ziki Zulkarnaen said before carrying out the demolition, his team had engaged in persuasion and issued a demolition order. The owners were already aware that the buildings violated regulations and lacked permits.

He added that prior to the demolition, the owners had agreed to have their buildings demolished. Therefore, officers only dismantled the buildings and returned reusable building materials to the owners.

Head of Kalideres Urban Village, Rizky Dwi Putra stated the enforcement operation involved 60 officers from the Public Order Agency (Satpol PP), the police, the Indonesian National Armed Forces (TNI), and the PPSU.
Previously, the buildings were being used by a number of individuals for businesses such as license plate printing, soft drink sales, and other activities.
"We hope that this action will have a deterrent effect on others so that they do not build illegal buildings, especially on land owned by the local government," he hoped.
