3,146 Karang Anyar Residents Receive Food Aid

A total of 3,146 residents of Karang Anyar Urban Village, Sawah Besar, Central Jakarta, received rice and cooking oil assistance from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs. The aid was distributed in installments from May 20 to 26, 2026.

20 kilograms of rice and four liters of cooking oil

Head of the Community Welfare Section of Karang Anyar Urban Village, Syahrudin, said that 3,146 beneficiary residents were spread across 165 RTs and 13 RWs.

"The food aid currently being distributed is for the period of February and March 2026. Each beneficiary receives 20 kilograms of rice and four liters of cooking oil," he said, Friday (5/22).

He added that his party has verified data through RT and RW throughout Karang Anyar before distributing food aid from the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs to ensure that aid recipients are on target.

"We ensure that residents who received food aid today are in accordance with data from the Ministry of Social Affairs," he added.

Meanwhile, Meilana (40), a local resident, admitted that she was greatly helped by the food aid distributed by the Indonesian Ministry of Social Affairs.

"This food aid is very useful because food prices have risen sharply," she admitted.
