BI Supports Digital Transformation of Jakarta MSMEs

Head of Jakarta PPKUKM Agency, Elisabeth Ratu Rante Allo said Intellectual Property protection is an important factor in increasing the competitiveness of Micro and Small Enterprises (MSMEs) amidst the development of the digital economy and increasingly tight market competition.

She added that currently, business actors cannot simply rely on creativity and entrepreneurial spirit, but also need to strengthen the foundation through clear legality and protection of their innovations and business identity.

"Many entrepreneurs have good products and creative ideas, but their efforts face obstacles because they lack legal protection for their brands and intellectual property. Yet, IP protection is crucial for maintaining business sustainability," she said, Wednesday (6/3).

Ratu explained the government continues to provide various facilities so that MSMEs can develop and move up a class, one of which is through the Sole Proprietorship facility which allows business actors to have a legal entity with an easier, faster, and more affordable process.

She believes that the combination of business legality and IP protection will make a business more credible in the eyes of consumers and business partners, while also increasing business value and opening up opportunities for wider market expansion.

"When a business has a legal entity and its intellectual assets are protected, trust in that business increases. This isn't just an administrative matter, but part of a long-term business development strategy," she added.

Ratu hopes that all participants will gain a strategic and practical understanding of the IP protection process, the benefits of sole proprietorships, and steps to strengthen legal-based businesses through this webinar.

She also expressed his appreciation to the Regional Office of the Ministry of Law of the Special Region of Jakarta for the collaboration established in organizing the activity.

"We hope that all participants can utilize this forum to discuss, exchange information, absorb knowledge from the speakers, and most importantly, immediately implement it in the development of their businesses," she stated.
