Sidewalk Repairs Underway on Jalan Yos Sudarso

North Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency personnel are repairing a sidewalk on Jalan Yos Sudarso in front of PT Temas Building in Sunter Jaya Urban Village, Tanjung Priok Sub-district.

North Jakarta Public Works Sub-agency Road and Bridge Section Head Robertus noted that the repairs are being carried out following up routine field monitoring by personnel.

According to him, the work is intended to improve safety and comfort for pedestrians.

“The sidewalk at this location was damaged, so we are carrying out repairs to restore its functionality,” he said on Tuesday (6/9).

Robertus explained that the work involves replacing damaged old paving blocks with new materials. The repaired sidewalk section is approximately 150 meters long and 1.5 meters wide.

"We have deployed seven personnel to carry out the work. The project began yesterday, and about 35 meters have been completed so far. We are targeting completion within the next two days," he asserted.

He ensured that pedestrian access remains available during the repair work so public activities are not disrupted. The repairs are expected not only to improve comfort and safety for sidewalk users, but also to enhance the city's appearance.

"We urge the public to help maintain public facilities that have been repaired. If residents find damaged roads or public facilities, they should report them to officers so they can be addressed promptly," he added.

Meanwhile, Salim (45), a motorcycle taxi driver operating near the site, appreciated the quick response from public works personnel in repairing the damaged sidewalk.

"Thank you for carrying out the repairs. The area is already starting to look neater and safer for residents passing through. Hopefully the work can be completed soon," he said.
