Shin Tae-Yong Appointment Fuels Suhud’s Confidence in Persija Title Run

Persija Jakarta has officially appointed Shin Tae-yong as their head coach for the upcoming 2026/2027 season. The South Korean tactician will helm the 'Macan Kemayoran' squad, with high expectations that he can elevate the team’s performance.

Jakarta City Council Chairman, Suhud Alynudin believes that the management's decision to sign Shin Tae-yong was both appropriate and strategic.

He pointed out that Shin Tae-yong’s widespread popularity in Indonesia will elevate Persija’s profile.

Suhud Commits to Sustaining Current Progress and Programs

"He (Shin Tae-yong) has a huge following nationwide, far beyond Jakarta. As a result, this will drive public fervor and bring more attention to Persija. I think it’s a very shrewd move," he expressed, Tuesday (6/9).

In his view, naming Shin Tae-yong as head coach is an excellent promotional move for Jakarta's football scene via Persija.

He urged the club's management to give Shin Tae-yong their full backing so he can maximize his efforts in constructing a competitive team.

Moreover, Suhud remains confident that Persija can challenge for the trophy next season. He expects the 'Macan Kemayoran' to end their rivals' dominance and reclaim their status as a leading force in the country's football.

"Hopefully, in the next league, in the coming competition, Persija will truly live up to their name as the Tiger," he concluded.
