Four Vehicles Illegally Parked on Jalan HR Rasuna Said Controlled

The South Jakarta Transportation Sub-agency has again conducted a crackdown on illegally parked vehicles on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Setiabudi District. Four illegally parked vehicles were found and immediately controlled.

Head of Setiabudi District's Transportation Unit, Ngatno said the enforcement carried out is part of routine patrols and follow-up to public reports regarding the increase in vehicles parked in prohibited locations.

Officers searched the HR Rasuna Said Road section from in front of the Indonesian Ministry of Law to the Menteng Flyover area, which was previously reported to often be used as an illegal parking location.

"Even though the controlling has been carried out repeatedly, officers still found a number of vehicles parked in inappropriate areas," he said, Monday (6/15).

He explained that any vehicle found to be in violation will be immediately given a ticket or red invitation as a form of enforcing traffic regulations as well as an effort to maintain the smooth flow of vehicles in the area.

"A total of four four-wheeled vehicles that were controlled were all conventional taxis," he explained.

Patrols and enforcement will continue to be carried out periodically to increase public awareness of the importance of obeying traffic regulations and utilizing public facilities according to their intended use.

"We hope that the routine patrols can increase public awareness regarding the function of public facilities provided by the government," he added.

Meanwhile, one of the residents, Romi Alamsyah, appreciated the firm action taken by officers to provide a deterrent effect to illegal parking perpetrators.

"If it is done routinely and violators are dealt with firmly, I am sure the practice of illegal parking will decrease, and could even be eliminated," he admitted.
