1 Muharram Holiday, Odd-Even Traffic Policy Abolished Tomorrow

The Jakarta Provincial Transportation Agency will suspend the odd-even traffic policy on Tuesday (6/16), coinciding with the 1 Muharram national holiday of the Islamic New Year 1448 H.

The Head of the Jakarta Transportation Agency, Budi Awaluddin, said that the elimination of the odd-even policy was carried out in accordance with regulations that stipulate that traffic restrictions are not enforced on national holidays designated by the government.

In Governor Regulation Number 88 of 2019 Article 3 paragraph 3 it is stated that traffic restrictions with the odd-even system are not enforced on Saturdays, Sundays, and national holidays as determined by Presidential Decree.

"People can run their activities without following the vehicle plate number restrictions that apply on weekdays," he said, Monday (6/15).

Budi urged the public to maintain safety while driving and comply with all applicable traffic regulations.

The Jakarta Transportation Agency also reminded the public to plan their trips well to avoid traffic congestion in a number of locations that have the potential to become tourist destinations and centers of community activities during the 1 Muharram holiday of the Islamic New Year 1448 Hijirah.

"We invite all road users to prioritize safety, obey traffic signs, and maintain order on the roads during the national holiday period," he stated.
