Residents Outside Jakarta May Enjoy Free Public Transportation and Tourism Site

The Jakarta Provincial Government has prepared various special gifts to celebrate Jakarta's 499th anniversary. Among them is free access to public transportation and tourist attractions managed by the Jakarta Provincial Government.

For June 22, 27, and 28

Interestingly, free access is not only valid for residents with Jakarta ID cards but also for residents outside Jakarta or those with Republic of Indonesia ID cards.

The Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung, said that this policy is a gift for Jakarta's 499th anniversary celebration, which will take effect on June 22, 27, and 28, 2026.

"For June 22, 27, and 28, both public transportation and tourist facilities owned by Jakarta, after receiving input from many parties, especially those who want to take advantage of it, on average from outside Jakarta, it does not only apply to Jakarta ID cards, but also to Republic of Indonesia ID cards," said Pramono.

He said this policy was decided after receiving input from various parties. Furthermore, the Jakarta Provincial Government also took into account the large number of people from outside Jakarta who plan to vacation in Jakarta.

In addition to free public transportation and tourist attractions, the Jakarta Provincial Government has inaugurated and will inaugurate several new public facilities during the 499th anniversary celebrations. Following the unveiling of Jakarta's new look on Jalan HR Rasuna Said, Pramono will also inaugurate the station and bridge connecting Jakarta International Stadium (JIS) with Ancol.
