Up to 100 residents are expected to benefit from a free tattoo removal program organized by the Central Jakarta Administration in collaboration with Jakarta Baznas Bazis at the Grand Multipurpose Hall of the Central Jakarta Mayor's Office from Monday (6/29) to Tuesday (6/30).
Many residents have benefited from the initiative
Central Jakarta Mayor Arifin said the free tattoo removal service is part of the city's 499th anniversary celebrations and the commemoration of the Islamic New Year, 1448 Hijri.
Free Tattoo Removal at Sunda Kelapa Mosque Targets 100 Residents"This free tattoo removal service is a response to residents' aspirations for the program to be held on an ongoing basis," Arifin said on Tuesday (6/30).
Arifin noted that the administration and Jakarta Baznas Bazis will evaluate the program with the aim of extending its duration and increasing the participant quota, as many residents have benefited from the initiative.
"Tattoo removal cannot be completed in a single session, which is why many participants have suggested extending the program," he added.
Meanwhile, Susi (36), a resident of Serdang Urban Village in Kemayoran Sub-district, said the program has been a great help.
"I have undergone tattoo removal treatment twice before. The first time was at a public hospital, but the cost was quite expensive. Thanks to this program, I was able to continue the treatment without paying any fees," she said.
