Jumped from 19th Floor of Apartment, a Boy Died Tragically

Valentino, a 6-year-old kid died tragically after jumping from his bedroom on the 19th floor of an apartment building in Laguna, Pluit Urban Village, Penjaringan Sub-District, North Jakarta, Thursday (5/1). He died instantly at the scene with head crushed and leg broken.

According to Eva, Valentino’s mother, the tragedy happened at around 11.30 AM after she bathed him. Before that, her son said that he was jealous of his new-born brother who is more loved than him.

“My son said ‘Mommy and daddy no longer love me, all the attention goes to little brother. So, I’d better jumping like Spiderman’,” recalled Eva who was then left Valentino in the bedroom to get rice for him.

When Eva returned to the bedroom to feed Valentino, the door was locked. She then panicked and screamed. By the time the door was finally opened, the boy was already lying on Food Court area below, precisely on the sink of Beanglay Store.

The victim died instantly at the scene with chin wounded, right leg broken, and bump on the head. We’re still questioning his parents, whether the incident intentional or not. The victim’s body has been brought to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) for an autopsy,” stated Jakarta Police Public Relations Division Chief Sr. Comr Rikwanto.
