Saudi Minister Applauds Rapid Progress of MRT Jakarta Phase 2A Project

Saudi Arabia Transport and Logistic Services Minister, Saleh bin Nasser Al-Jasser, has expressed his appreciation for the rapid development of MRT Jakarta. This praise was delivered during an official site visit to the ongoing construction of the Thamrin and Monas stations.
Both stations to be completed and ready for operation by the end of 2027
The Saudi delegation received a warm welcome from Railways Director General, Allan Tandiono, and PT MRT Jakarta’s Construction Director, Weni Maulina.
Minister Al-Jasser showed great enthusiasm while discussing the milestones of MRT Jakarta Phase 1 and the strategic expansion of the Phase 2A North-South Line.

Welcoming the visit, Allan Tandiono shared that Phase 2A is well underway, with construction hitting the 61.8% mark. The stretch connecting Bundaran HI to Monas is on track to be fully operational by the end of 2027.
"We hope this visit cements our friendship and unlocks potential cooperation in HR and technology that benefits both countries,” Allan remarked, Thursday (7/16).
Echoing this sentiment, MRT Jakarta’s Construction Director, Weni Maulina, appreciated the delegation’s time amidst their packed itinerary.
She expressed her pride in presenting the latest milestones at the Thamrin and Monas sites, even taking the Minister 18 meters below the surface to explore the newly constructed tunnels.
"Currently, the construction of these two stations has reached 93.50 percent. The target is for both stations to be completed and ready for operation by the end of 2027,” she concluded.
