Aid Delivered to Fire Survivors on Jalan Kayu Tinggi

The East Jakarta Social Sub-agency, in collaboration with the Indonesian Red Cross (PMI), moved quickly to help meet the basic needs of residents affected by a fire on Jalan Kayu Tinggi, RT 09/RW 11, Cakung Timur Urban Village, Cakung Sub-district.

The fire, which broke out at around 10:12 PM on Thursday (7/16), displaced 13 families, affecting a total of 34 people.

East Jakarta Social Sub-agency Head Agata Bayu Putra said his office had distributed aid while ensuring the survivors' food needs were met.

"Starting today, ready-to-eat meals will be provided for the next three days. Meals will be distributed three times a day, in line with the request from the urban village administration," he explained on Friday (7/17).

Agata said the aid included 13 five-kilogram bags of rice, 13 boxes of instant noodles, and 13 two-liter pouches of cooking oil.

"We also distributed 13 bottles of sweet soy sauce, 26 packs of biscuits, 26 cans of sardines, and 13 goodie bags containing basic necessities," he added.

East Jakarta PMI Chair Bambang Pangestu Aldrian said his team also delivered 13 food packages, 13 hygiene kits, 13 family kits, 13 mats, two boxes of bread, and five cartons of bottled mineral water, each containing 12 1.5-liter bottles.

"The aid was symbolically handed over to local RT and RW administrators, witnessed by Cakung Timur Urban Village Head Tri Budiyanto," he noted.

Meanwhile, Cakung Vice Sub-district Head Sigit Darmanto praised the swift response of the East Jakarta Social Sub-agency and the local PMI, which promptly responded to the request for assistance after data collection was completed at the scene.

"We are deeply grateful to everyone who has provided assistance to residents affected by the fire. This aid will help meet the survivors' basic needs," he said.
