Budget of Kapuk Urban Village Expansion Requested to Be Prioritized

Chairman of Commission A of the Jakarta City Council Inggard Joshua, asked the Jakarta Provincial Government to prioritize the budget for the expansion of Kapuk Urban Village in the Regional Budget 2027.

must be a priority

Kapuk Urban Village is divided into three areas, namely Kapuk, Kapuk Selatan, and Kapuk Timur.

This was conveyed by Inggard during a meeting to discuss the Draft General Policy of the Regional Budget and Temporary Budget Ceiling Priorities (KUA-PPAS) for the 2027 Fiscal Year.

According to him, Kapuk Urban Village is currently inhabited by around 175 thousand people, so the burden of public services handled by the urban village government is already very large.

"In fact, one urban village with 50 thousand residents is already very densely populated," he said, Tuesday (7/28).

He reminded that the expansion of Kapuk Urban Village had previously received support from the Jakarta Governor, Pramono Anung.

Therefore, Commission A asked the Jakarta Provincial Government to prioritize the budget for realizing the expansion of Kapuk Urban Village rather than rehabilitating existing urban village or district buildings.

"The expansion of Kapuk Urban Village must be a priority because it involves improving services to the community," he emphasized.

According to him, the large population of Kapuk often makes it difficult for residents to access government services. Commission A, Inggard continued, is targeting the formation and operation of three newly created urban villages next year.

"We want the new urban villages to be established by 2027, its equipment to be complete, and be able to provide more optimal services to the community," he stated.
