The West Jakarta Health Sub-agency kicked off the 2026 School Children's Immunization Month (BIAS) at SDN Meruya Utara 02 in Kembangan, Monday (8/3). The program targeted 125,819 students who received various vaccinations.
54,981 female and male fifth grade students
Head of the Sub-agency, Sahruna said the main target of this year's BIAS activities is to provide human papillomavirus (HPV) vaccination to male and female students.

According to him, HPV vaccination for male students is only implemented this year. In previous years, HPV vaccination only targeted female students.
Sahruna explained that the HPV vaccine is an effort to prevent cancer. The HPV vaccine, given once in a lifetime to boys, is crucial for breaking the chain of transmission.
According to him, the 2026 BIAS activities will also include Diphtheria, Tetanus (DT) and Measles-Rubella (MR) vaccinations for 35,285 first-grade students. Also tetanus and Diphtheria (Td1) vaccinations for 35,553 second-grade students.
"HPV vaccination for students is part of the national immunization program," he stated.
