The Jakarta City Council held a joint leadership meeting with the executive ranks to discuss the report on the results of the discussion by the Regional Regulation Formation Agency (Bapemperda) regarding the Draft Regional Regulation (Raperda) on the Implementation of the Drinking Water Supply System (SPAM).

Improvements and more accurate input

In addition, the meeting also discussed the results of the Ministry of Home Affairs' facilitation of the Draft Regional Regulation on the Implementation of the Food System and the Draft Regional Regulation on the Environmental Protection and Management Plan (RPPLH).

Jakarta City Council Vice Chairman, Basri Baco said the discussion of the three draft regional regulations resulted in a number of improvements based on input from the public, council members, executives, and the results of the Ministry of Home Affairs' evaluation.

"The point is that improvements and more accurate input are based on the results of the Ministry of Home Affairs' evaluation," he said, Tuesday (8/4).

According to Baco, further discussions are expected to refine the substance of the regulation before it is ratified in a plenary session.

He added that the Draft Regional Regulation on the Implementation of the Food System and RPPLH has now entered the final stage of discussion.

Baco continued that the Draft Regional Regulation on Environmental Management (RPPLH) is an important regulation because it was drafted in accordance with the latest provisions from the Ministry of Environment.

After it is ratified, the City Council together with the Jakarta Provincial Government will conduct massive socialization so that the public understands the contents of the regional regulation, including the rights and obligations stipulated in the regulation.

"So that the public knows, including what their rights and obligations are. That's the most important thing," he stated.
