Handling of Fallen Tree in Bambu Apus to Complete Friday

The handling of a fallen rubber fig tree measuring two meters in diameter and 10 meters in height on Jalan Bambu Hitam RT 03/01, Bambu Apus Urban Village, Cipayung, East Jakarta, which collapsed last Sunday afternoon (8/2), is scheduled to be completed this coming Friday (8/7).

Handling process has reached approximately 60 percent

Head of Cipayung District's City Parks and Forestry Unit, Meita Lolita said 12 members of the Green Task Force, together with local urban village PPSU personnel, are continuing the handling and removal efforts. According to Meita, the process is taking quite some time due to the tree's considerable size and height.

Fallen and Broken Trees in East Jakarta Completely Removed

"Currently, the handling process has reached approximately 60 percent completion. The target is to have everything finished on Friday," she said, Wednesday (8/5).

The entire tree trunk is disposed of at the TB Simatupang Trash Screen (SSTBS) in South Jakarta.

Head Section of Economy and Development for Bambu Apus Urban Village, Eli Mulyaningsih stated her side deployed five PPSU personnel to assist with the handling efforts.

"This fallen tree trunk is being cut into several parts to facilitate transport. The surrounding area will also be thoroughly cleared later," she admitted.
